The DigiCLASS project is taking a major step forward with the launch of its early beta testing phase. This crucial milestone marks the first practical deployment of the project's tools in 8 selected secondary schools across Austria, Italy, and the Aragon region in Spain, paving the way for the full-scale implementation of the DigiCLASS pedagogical approach.
Internationalising the Pix Framework
To make this possible, the Pix platform is now available in three new languages: German, Italian, and Spanish.
Participating students are beginning with a first assessment test covering 12 key digital competence topics. In the next months, more content from the Pix framework will be translated and contextualised by the DigiCLASS consortium and gradually made available to more schools in the three countries.
Refining the Tools Before the Full-Scale Pilot
This early beta testing phase serves as a vital trial run. By gathering data from the classrooms, the DigiCLASS partnership will be able to:
- Identify and address any early technical difficulties or pedagogical hurdles,
- Refine and adjust the platform and assessment content based on direct user feedback,
- Ensure a smooth and effective rollout when the full-scale pilot officially begins in Autumn 2026.
Shaping National Strategies
Beyond the technical and pedagogical fine-tuning, the insights and feedback gathered from teachers and students during this beta phase will carry long-term value. They will actively contribute to the elaboration of the national implementation strategies in the three piloting countries, ensuring that the DigiCLASS outcomes can be sustainably integrated into their respective national education systems.
Next Steps
Looking ahead, the project will expand its scope based on the outcomes of this first beta testing. New assessment items will continue to be systematically translated and contextualised in direct alignment with the evolving national strategies.
